Scientific Sessions

Track 1: Cancer & Its Therapeutics

The term cancer defines abnormal growth of cell tissues, is group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with potential to spread to other parts of the body. It’s a disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue. Cancer starts when cell change abnormally, grows as cells multiply over and over. Cancer therapy defines treatment of cancer in a patient. It can be treated by surgery, chemotherapyAntineoplastic therapyradiation therapyhormonal therapytargeted therapy and synthetic lethality. The selection of therapy depends on the area and grade of the tumour and the stage of the disease, as well as the normal condition of the patient.

T   Track 2: Neonatal and Paediatric Cancer

Neonatal and Pediatric oncologists chiefly treat leukemia, lymphoma, embryonic tumours and genetic blood disorders, such as sickle-cell anaemia and haemophilia. Neonatal cancer is rare and contains a heterogeneous gathering of Neoplasms with substantial histological differences. All kinds of paediatric cancer can happen in babies and neonates, the outline and conduct of Neonatal Tumours frequently varies from that in more established youngsters, prompting differences in determination and supervision. The reasons for a neonatal disease are uncertain, yet hereditary factors most likely have a key part.

Track 5: Diagnosis in Cancer

Mostly doctors use biopsy to make a diagnosis of cancer. A biopsy is a method where doctor removes a sample of tissue. A pathologist  then observes at the tissue by using of a microscope to see if it is cancer. The sample may be removed in several ways namely with a needle or endoscope or surgery. There is no one test that can surely diagnose cancer presence. The complete examination of a patient usually requires a thorough history and physical testing’s along with diagnostic testing. Numbers of tests are required to detect whether a person has cancer or not.

Track 6: Radiation Oncology & Therapy

Radiation oncology is a medical specialty in which controlled use of radiation to treat cancer either for cure, or to lower pain and other symptoms caused by cancer. Radiation therapy describes actual treatment used by radiation oncology team and the three unique specialist professions in it are Radiation Oncologists (doctors), Radiation Therapists and Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists. These professionals follow advanced technologies to deliver safe and effective radiation therapy to cancer patients with as few side effects. Radiation therapy cures 40% of all cancer patients. Radiation therapy mostly uses X-rays, but protons or other types of energy also can be used. It uses high doses of radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. In low doses, radiation is used in x-rays to see the internal structure of body.

Market Analysis

Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally, and about 1 in 6 deaths is due to cancer. It is estimated that 7.6 million deaths due to cancer in the year 2005 by WHO (world health organisation), this number expected to rise to 12 million deaths by the year 2030. Up to 2001, Malaysia did not have a National Cancer Registry (NCR) to estimate the real incidence of cancer among Malaysians. Evaluation of NCR reports indicates that the number of new cancer cases among residents in Peninsular Malaysia has decreased from 26,089 to 21,773. After taking this report into account unregistered cases, the probability that a Malaysian will get cancer in his/her life time is 1 in 4. Since Lifestyle changes such as lack of regular exercise, consumption of a high fat diet, and breast feeding habits are reported as some important risk factors among Malaysian breast cancer patients.

This report studies the global market size of Cancer Drugs in key regions like North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Central & South America and Middle East & Africa, focuses on the consumption of Cancer Drugs in these regions, this report categorizes the global Cancer Drugs market by players/brands, region, type and application and also studies the global market status, competition landscape,  growth rate, future trends, opportunities and challenges, sales channels, distributors and Porter’s Five Forces Analysis.
